4. hike Roy’s Peak, wanaka
One way to experience the beauty of New Zealand is from the top! Roy’s Peak hiking trail, is surrounded by majestic mountain peaks and offers a mesmerising view of the beautiful Lake Wanaka. Be prepared for this challenging hike, as the steep climb takes you around 5-7 hours (round trip) at a constant incline. The journey to the summit lacks shade and can become hot and tiring, especially during the summer months. Be sure to wear sun protection, bring bottled water (consider packing hydralite tablets) and a filling snack or energy bar. If you’re up for the challenge, reaching the top of Roy's Peak is an absolute must-try that will leave you in awe of New Zealand's natural splendor!

Blue Pools is part of the Mount Aspiring National Park and stands out because of its vibrant colour. On a day filled with blue skies and sunny weather, the glacial water becomes a vivid gatorade blue, surrounded amongst lush greenery that makes it picture-worthy.
